Islamist Activity in California: What You Need to Know

Date: Saturday, August 17, 2019   11:00 am to 1:30 pm
City: Temecula, California

The Middle East Forum cordially invites you to lunch with Gregg Roman.

Islamism is a political phenomena present in both the Middle East and the West. But, what about Islamist activity on a local level? Not the reports you hear about violent Islamists like the Muslim Brotherhood, ISIS, or Hamas; or about the activity of American Islamist organizations like the Council on American Islamic Relations, the Muslim Action Society, or Islamic Society of North America. What about Islamists in our own backyard?

Gregg Roman will discuss the presence and activities of Islamists in California; specifically the case of Rabab Abdul Hadi at San Francisco State University; the attempt to promulgate Islamist values into the San Diego Unified School District; and the sponsorship of American Islamism by the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. He will offer a background on these cases and more - and solutions for how we here at home can resist their ongoing attempts to influence with values anathema to the American way of life.

Check-in will begin at 11:00 am. Discussion will begin promptly at 12:00 pm, followed by a period of Q&A.

Business attire. Limited capacity. Picture I.D. required to enter the building.

An Inside Look at the Israel Victory Project

Date: Thursday, August 22, 2019   12:00 to 1:30 pm   RSVP online
City: San Francisco, California
Cost: $250 per person

The Middle East Forum cordially invites you to lunch with Gregg Roman.

Ze'ev Jabotinsky, author, soldier, and Zionist leader, introduced his Iron Wall doctrine in a 1923 essay, which maintained that Arab acquiescence in the Jewish right to statehood would only follow upon the establishment of an unassailable Jewish power base - military, political, and diplomatic. This logic informs today's Israel Victory Project, namely that only a decisive Israeli victory will drive the Palestinians to accept Israel as the state of the Jewish People, with Jerusalem as its capital, as the realization of the Jews' historic right to national revival in their ancestral homeland.

Gregg Roman will the discuss the ideas behind the Israeli Victory Project, founded in 2017, including updates on its caucuses in the Knesset, Israel's parliament, and in the U.S. Congress, with actions taken by members from across the political spectrum, its most recent campaign - ongoing this summer in Israel, and other topics.

Lunch and discussion will begin promptly at 12:00 pm, followed by a brief period of networking.
